Cowboy Hat Articles
Today, Kenny Chesneyhas developed
his music niche and the fans love it. Early in his career in his home state of
Tennessee, Kenny started out by playing his guitar and singing in local bars
and night clubs. Majoring in business while in college, Kenny has put that
knowlege to work by being personally involved in every aspect of his annual
concert tours from the stage sets, lighting, scheduling.
Each year, his
concerts sell more tickets and Kenny works hard to make it a great experience
for the fans. The work starts months before the concert with approving designs
for new Kenny Chesney merchandise made by Richards & Southern. Concert
merchandise includes a wide variety of memorabilia, from t-shirts to
flip-flops, with this year's Flip Flop Summer 2007 tour logos.
Once the merchandise is ready it will be loaded on an 18-wheeler truck
and headed to the next concert location. Kenny arrives on the first stop of
the concert tour (Omaha) to make sure everything is set up in advance just the
way he has envisioned it. Once the set-up meets Kenny's approval, Kenny and
his band go through the music line-up and actually perform the songs with the
lights, set, video and make adjustments for the acoustics or other problems.
They practice until the total performance meets Kenny's expectations and then
everyone stops briefly to celebrate by raising their glasses for a toast to
the success of a new summer tour.
Kenny wears many hats in the production of every concert and even
sometimes has surprise performances in local clubs the day before the concerts
complete with autograph signings. In the early years of his career, Kenny
dressed in a more traditional cowboy attire with western shirt, hat and boots,
modeling his image after George Strait. Today, you might find Kenny performing
in a
John Deere t-shirt, flip-flops and a baseball cap. His unique Caribbean
country style and image has propelled his to the top of the charts and he is
who he is, like the lyrics in the song, "Be As You Are." Kenny wears many hats
both figuratively in the promotion of his concert tours but also physically,
Kenny is always wearing a hat. In February of 2007, Chesney did an exclusive
interview with 60 minutes. Kenny was shown wearing a
University of Tennessee baseball cap, Atlanta Braves baseball cap and a
Kenny Chesney black cowboy hat.
One of the most popular requested songs by Kenny is, "She Thinks My
Tractor is Sexy." In the video, KC is wearing the hat he wears most often, the
trademark
Kenny Chesney cowboy hat. It is a Mexican Pinto palm-leaf cowboy hat that
is hand-braided and shaped into Chesney favorite style. You can watch the
video from U-Tube by visting the John Deere
products page. After watching the video, I am sure you can figure out why
Kenny has become a sex-symbol which has attracted a large following of female
fans. Today, when Kenny performs this song at a concert, fans still go wild.
Is it the rhythm of the beat or the way he moves? Whatever the reason,
"tractor-mania" is still going crazy and we owe it all to Chesney who has made
the tractor...sexy!
