Styled in great John Deere colors with official John Deere logo this kerchief is a square piece of decorative cotton cloth that can be tied around the head as a Do-rag or headscarf, as well as, around the neck for protective or decorative purposes. Many hard working folks used a bandanna as a hankerchief for hygiene purposes to wipe sweat from their brow, blow their nose or to stop a cut from bleeding.
In the old west, a bandanna might have been worn over the mouth of a bank robber as a disguise. Working men, such as cowboys, farmers and railroad engineers also wore bandannas over their mouth and noses to keep from breathing in dust and fumes.
Today, bandannas are worn by both women and men for fashion as well as practicality. There are many cool ways to fold and tie the bandanna. Many like to wear it as a headband, while others might like to wear it as a head covering scarf by folding it in a triangular shape and tying it behind the neck.
1. Lay the bandana on a flat surface, face down.
2. Take two opposing corners and fold each one inwards until the bandana is about 5 inches wide (13 cm).
3. Lean over the bandana, pick it up and place the widest part over your forehead.
4. Tie the remaining corners at the middle of the back of your head.
